Volker Schlöndorff: ENLIGHTENMENT

The view of an old and wise mosquito on the mysteriousness of time. The more thoroughly it observes time, the further it gets out of its reach: perplexity full of relish.

Living on a campsite by a lake in Brandenburg, the mosquito observes scenes from the life of a German family before and after the fall of the Wall. At the end is enlightenment. A glowing. The merging and dissolving of past, present and future. And then: eternity.
